School Shadow Program
The School Shadow Program provides dedicated one-on-one support for children with additional learning needs within the mainstream or inclusive school setting. A trained shadow educator accompanies the child throughout the school day, offering personalised assistance to help them access the curriculum, navigate the social environment, and participate meaningfully in classroom activities.
Our shadow educators work closely with the child's classroom teacher, parents, and allied health team to ensure that support strategies are consistent, goal-directed, and responsive to the child's evolving needs. Guided by the principles of the child's Individualized Education Program (IEP), the shadow gradually fades their support as the child builds confidence and independence — always at the child's own pace.
What we support:
Classroom participation and task engagement
Following instructions and routines
Social interaction and peer relationships
Emotional and sensory regulation in the school environment
Communication and self-expression
Transition between activities and settings
The School Shadow Program is designed not just to help children cope in school — but to help them truly belong.
